VM4: Transparent Analytics System

Search Valley utilizes a transparent audit system. We do not track personal identifying information stealthily.

Privacy Hashing​

When a search query is submitted, the system:

  1. Normalizes the string to lowercase and trims whitespace.
  2. Hashes the text using SHA-256 before writing to the database: 
    queryHash = crypto.createHash("sha256").update(query).digest("hex");
  3. Retains zero plain-text record of the query on the database. This allows aggregate count queries without retaining a history of what specific users searched for.

Admin Dashboard Stats​

  • Route: GET /api/analytics/dashboard
  • Protection: Requires X-Admin-Token header.
  • Aggregations returned:
    • Total event logs counts.
    • Active users totals.
    • Average search result latencies.
    • LLM fallback counts (e.g. how many times Groq vs. Gemini vs. Ollama was utilized).
